Mid Continents new electronic glass screened digital instruments are suitable for primary or standby use.  These are more versatile and cheaper than the old style mechanical instruments

Scale markings can be programmed at installation.

They don't suffer from the friction issues that plague many 2 inch mechanical instruments.
