Electrical Load Analysis (ELA)

All new Operational Approvals under RNAV and RNP operations (effective 14th November 2013) will require an Electrical Load Analysis (ELA).

The ELA demonstrates that the aircraft is able to sustain 30 or 60 minutes operation (as applicable to the aircraft's type cert) in the event of the failure of the primary power source (usually the Generator or Alternator).

If your aircraft is in the original manufacturer's configuration, you may not need an ELA, but you still need to show compliance.
