Old style Mode A/C and Mode S transponders are being phased out in New Zealand.

The CAA's proposed mandate for ADS-B transponders is expected to be in force by December 2021.

It is very unlikely that the COVID-19 Pandemic will delay this mandate as it's scheduled to coincide whith the End Of Life of many of the ground based Radar systems.
